Accepted payment methods for precious metal investment products

When you buy gold bullion from Canada Gold - Montreal or any Canada Gold branch across the country, there are several ways to pay.

Please call us before making a payment for an online order to receive a unique order number and confirm your total.

Bank transfer

  • A valid government-issued ID is required at the time of collection, for your security and to prevent payment fraud.
  • Recommended for purchases over 25,000 $.
  • Please call or visit your local Canada Gold office to receive an invoice number, confirm inventory and exact amounts before proceeding with payment. Include your full name and telephone number at this time.

  • Once payment has been confirmed (usually 1-4 working days), your bullion will be delivered immediately. Please note that processing times may vary depending on your financial institution.

Debit cards from Canadian banks or credit unions (not credit cards)

  • Pay in store at time of purchase.
  • For payments over 5 000 $, valid government-issued ID is required for your security and to prevent payment fraud.
  • Typical debit card limits range from 1,000 $ and 10,000 $. Please check with your financial institution if you require a higher limit for larger transactions.
  • Get immediate access to your ingots after payment.

Bank draft

  • valid government-issued ID is required at the time of collection, for your security and to prevent payment fraud.
  • Please call or visit your local Canada Gold branch to confirm stock availability and exact amounts before making payment.
  • The draft should be made payable to «Canada Gold».
  • Please make sure the amount is correct. We do not give change.
  • We only accept bank drafts issued by Canadian banks and trust companies.
  • Present the bank draft at the Canada Gold branch same day of its issue date.
  • Please provide proof of identity and your telephone number at the time of payment.
  • Your ingots will be available after a compensation period of 5 to 10 business days.

Cash

All transactions are subject to the rules and requirements of our compliance program under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA).

  • Our usual cash limit is 5,000 $. For cash payments over 5,000 $valid identification is required, and the approval of a branch manager may be necessary.
  • Only recent Canadian polymer bills with a clear vertical stripe are accepted. At the manager's discretion, our staff can accept up to 1,000 $ in old Canadian bills.
  • Your ingots are available immediately.

* Important notes *

  • Canada Gold does not accept direct deposit or cheques at bank machines. These funds cannot be verified and will be declined.
  • Currently, Canada Gold - Montreal does not accept online bill payments, wire transfers or credit cards.
  • Please confirm the inventory and exact amounts before proceeding with payment. Payments received without a ticket or order number will not be accepted.
  • You will be contacted directly by phone once remote payments have been verified, and you will then be able to collect your items.
  • Please bring photo ID with you when you come to collect your order for verification purposes.
